Join Our Advisory Committee
Handmade Arcade (HA) seeks enthusiastic volunteers who are passionate about supporting makers and creative entrepreneurs in the Pittsburgh region to serve as members of Handmade Arcade’s Advisory Committee.
About Handmade Arcade’s Advisory Committee:
HA became a 501(c)(3) in 2017. The organization is managed by one full-time staff member, the Executive Director. Handmade Arcade’s small but active group of community volunteers on the Advisory Committee have been instrumental in sustaining the organization. Advisory Committee members help plan Handmade Arcade events and programs, volunteer at events, support marketing activities, and more depending on the needs of the organization and the expertise and interest of the Advisory Committee members.
Position Description:
Handmade Arcade Advisory Committee Members:
Serve for a term of three years with the option to opt-in for a second term
Attend at least 75% of committee meetings
Volunteer for at least one event annually
Take the lead on an initiative at least once annually
Attend Handmade Arcade special events and programs
Participate in the annual review of HA’s Executive Director
Participate in an annual self-assessment of HA’s Advisory Committee
Contribute to implementing HA’s strategic plan
Qualifications:
In order to maintain a well-rounded Advisory Committee, Handmade Arcade seeks members with expertise in any of the following areas:
Event planning
Creative entrepreneurship or entrepreneur support
Volunteer management
Marketing and public relations
Fundraising
Youth development and education
Community engagement
Handmade Arcade is committed to maintaining an Advisory Committee that is reflective of our region’s diverse make-up of makers, customers, and collaborators. Candidates with disabilities, candidates who are BIPOC, and/or candidates who are members of the LGBTQIA2S+ community are encouraged to apply.
