Amelia Kieras Paper Arts
Amelia Kieras is a Pittsburgh based illustrator and paper artist. She makes pop-up cards, 3D layered cut paper wall art, hand bound artist books, and self published picture books, all featuring original digital illustrations. To create her imagery, Amelia starts with a sketch, scans it, and then builds the final illustration on top using original photography for textures and digital painting techniques to color and blend. Amelia prints, cuts, and assembles the shadow boxes, books, and cards in her home studio, using archival pigment-based giclee printing and heavyweight matte papers. Her imagery is inspired by childhood memories and imaginings, folk tales, fairy tales, and dreams.
